Report to Royal Dutch Shell Using HT-MWD Instrument in Changbei Project
Shell Changbei Project is one of GWDC’s major projects, company leaders pay high attention to this project. So far , the directional construction of horizontal well CB19-2, CB17-1, CB19-3, CB18-1 have been completed successfully, and the operation effect is satisfying.
Aiming at Royal Dutch Shell’s requirement, combining the geological characteristics of this project, according to principles of reducing instrument failure rate, eliminating NPT, improving operation effect, the GWDC and HTWB did lots of serious and careful work together, the ongoing upgrading work of the HT-MWD instruments is successful. The upgraded HT-MWD instruments meet the field needs, and completely be able to provide technical service in 12-1/4” well section.
Under high displacement and high vibration situation in the well, all of MWD1200’ s indicators meet Shell’s requirement when it works, instead of Schlumberger. Finally, MWD1200 gained recognition of Shell, reducing drilling period and expense.
Through the operation in Liaohe oilfield and Changbei project, HT-MWD made stable performance under deep well, high temperature and high pressure condition. The technical indicators are able to reach the same technical level with imported products so that it can replace the same kind of imported products completely. HTWB imported the key parts in order to replace imported products and make sure the products’ high reliability. The whole system has a lower price as 1/3 and 1/4 imported products and higher cost performance. The product possess X/Y/Z dynamic triaxial test function, teletransmission function, (Software’s transfer system can achieve remote monitoring, providing convenient condition for better controlling well path and formation monitoring), comprehensive plotting function, KLC sectional calibration function. The functions above are consistent with imported products’ technological level and are unique technology domestically, which fill in gap in this field for Chinese instrument.
