MWD System

Wireless MWD (Measurement While Drilling) system is the central technology support equipment for the engineering control of the wellbore trajectory in directional drilling service. It is used to fast and continuously to survey the inclination and azimuth of the well on the real time, and support the engineering control for the directional drilling engineers. Overview

MWD system is the professional directional equipment used in the drilling engineering on the oil-field. The down-hole sensors used to collect the wellbore’s inclination, azimuth and motor’s tool-face, then transform the electronic signals to mud’s pressure vibration signals and use the mud to translates the pressure signal to the surface. In the end, the surface computer system uses the software to provide the well information to the directional driller on the real time. Our L/MWD system which employs technologies including industrial control, spacecraft guidance, computer science, wireless telecommunications, precision instruments processing, etc is one of the highest technological equipment with the machine, electronic and hydraulic integration which is also one of the top survey equipment in the well drilling engineering.

How does it work

MWD system uses the acceleration sensors, fluxgate sensors and specific high-temperature-resist electronic components to collect the drilling well information in the real drilling time. Use the lower down-hole computer to accept and process the well information to special coded data, then use the mechanical pulser to produce the pulses signal and in the end use the mud pressure to transform the pressure signal to the surface. Surface pressure sensor gets the mud’s pressure vibration signal and transforms the corresponding electronic vibration to the DIB box. The DIB box filter and convert the analog signal to digital signal and transport the digital signal to the system’s upper computer. In the end, the upper computer filter, process and calculate the digital signal then decode the digital electronic signal to the visualization wellbore information to the directional driller.
